Stint

A stint is one of several very small waders in the genus Calidris, which in North America are known as peeps. Some of these birds are difficult to identify because of the similarity between species, and various breeding, non-breeding, juvenile and moulting plumages. The species usually considered as stints or peeps are:
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Occasionally, "peep" is used in North America to refer to any Calidrid wader.
The word 'stint' can also refer to a temporary job.
