Stinger (Organ)

A stinger is an organ or body part found in various animals that usually delivers some kind of venom. Animals with stingers include bees, wasps, and scorpions. The stinger, which may be barbed so as to lodge in the flesh of the victim, is typically located near the tail. For creatures such as jellyfish, stinger can refer to the tentacles that carry cnidocytes to capture and paralyze prey.
