Stikine Volcanic Belt
The
Stikine Volcanic Belt
is a range of
volcanoes
stretching from northern
British Columbia
to the
Yukon
and
Alaska
. The belt contains more than 100 volcanoes, including
Alligator Lake
,
Heart Peak
,
Hoodoo Mountain
,
Lava Fork
,
Mount Edziza
,
Ruby Mountain
,
Tseax Cone
and
Volcano Mountain
. The volcanoes are the result of the interaction between the
Pacific Ocean tectonic plate
and the
North American tectonic plate
.
