Steve Scott

Steve Scott (born May 5, 1956) is an American athlete who set an American Record of 3:47.69 in the mile. Scott ran 136 sub-4:00 miles in his career, more than any other runner in history. He later became the head men's and women's cross country and track coach at Cal State-San Marcos. In 1994 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, but underwent surgery and made a full recovery.
