Stephen Rea

Stephen Rea (born October 31, 1943) is an Irish actor who has appeared in many films. A Protestant, Rea was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After appearing on the stage for many years in Ireland and the UK, Rea came to international attention when he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for the movie The Crying Game. Other films he has appeared in include The Company of Wolves, Princess Caraboo, Interview With the Vampire, Prt--Porter, Michael Collins, Evelyn, FearDotCom, Citizen X, The Musketeer and The End of the Affair. He also formed the Field Day Theatre with Brian Friel, Tom Paulin, Seamus Heaney, and Seamus Deane. Rea's wife was a member of the Irish Republican Army.
