Starship Constellation

The first USS Constellation (NCC-1017) was a Constitution class starship in the Star Trek fictional universe. This vessel was commanded by Commodore Matthew Decker and was destroyed in 2267 by a Planet-Killer. The second USS Constellation (NCC-1974) was the pathfinder of the Constellation class launched sometime between 2280 and 2284 (before the Excelsior, registry NX-2000 in 2284). This ship was still in service in 2374 when it helped search for the USS Honshu (NCC-60205). It is assumed that this ship was named after the numerous vessels named Constellation in the United States Navy. Constellation
