Starbase

A starbase is usually portrayed as a facility strategically positioned in space used to repair and re-supply starships. Many sci-fi series use the idea of starbases in their story lines, most notable of which is Star Trek, which shows huge stuctures usually (but not exclusively) in orbit around planets. Starbases are required for the construction of spaceships in the computer strategy game Stars!
