Stanley Lord

Stanley Lord (September 13, 1877 - January 24, 1962) was the captain of the Californian at the Titanic disaster. He was often blamed for being too slow to respond to the SOS from Titanic. and in fact was severely condemned by both the American and British inquiries into the Titanic sinking for that failure. Lord's defenders, dubbed Lordites, continue to fight to have his reputation rehabilitated. Lord, Stanley Lord, Stanley Stanley Lord
