Stalag Luft Vii-a

Stalag Luft VIIA start existence in 1944 in Bankau (today Bąkw) 6 kilometers from Kreuzburg ( today Kluczbork) in Germany (today Poland). Firstly (1.07.1944)were in camp 230 prisoners. In next months, prisoners were more, and 1.01.1945 in camp were 1578 prisoners. In camp were British, Americans, Russian, Polish and Canadian prisoners. POW 3.4.1944 10.Nav.Sgt AITKEN R N POW Prisoner No 609 11.W/Op.Sgt.DAVIES J A.Prisoner No 698 12.Bob Hardy 13.Spinner 14.George Greenwood 15.V.
