St. Louis Stampede

The St. Louis Stampede was a team in the Arena Football League, a professional sports league that plays a scaled-down version of American football, usually in arenas in which professional basketball or professional ice hockey are ordinarily played. The Stampede competed in the 1995 and 1996 seasons, playing their home games in the Kiel Center (since renamed the Savvis Center), also the home of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League. The Stampede enjoyed considerable success on the field, qualfiying for the playoffs during both seasons of their existence, but apparently less success as a business, folding after the completion of the 1996 season.
