St Nicolas Du Chardonnet

St. Nicolas du Chardonnet is a church in Paris.

History

The Society of St. Pius X gathered a large group of followers nearby one day and proceeded to occupy the church, kicking out the people who were in it at the time. It serves now as their church in Paris, and draws massive crowds each Sunday, far more than other churches in Paris. On a typical Sunday there are about 6 Masses sung back to back, with almost no interuption. There is worry that if the church becomes too crowded the society will occupy another church. This would probably be good for the church building however, as St. Nicolas is the best maintained church in Paris.
