The institution is located on the Falls Road in Belfast, and has approximately 60 staff and 600 students. The institution offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate for teacher training, especially for a Roman Catholic ethos. The university colleges legacy institutions were associated with the university since 1949, by allowing students to train and study at the university, and in 1968 degrees of the university were offered to the students of these two institutions.
