SSX is a snowboarding video game released for the PlayStation 2 for its launch in October 2000. It was developed by EA Canada. It is very much an arcade-style video game, not a simulation game, focusing more on unrealistic tricks and larger-than-life courses.

Sequels

SSX has spawned two sequels, SSX Tricky and SSX 3, which were released for the Xbox and Nintendo GameCube consoles, as well as the PlayStation 2.
