Sports Entertainment

Sports entertainment is a type of entertainment that superficially takes the form of a sporting event, but with more emphasis on dramatic storylines, humor, spectacle or titilation than on the contest of althletic skills. Sports entertainment is epitomized by professional wrestling. Some sports entertainment events have a predetermined winner, while in others the winner is determined just as it is in a normal sporting event. The term itself was coined by wrestling empresario Vince McMahon when describing the first WrestleMania pay-per-view. Examples of sports entertainment:
