Special Forces Of India

India has the following Special Forces:
  • 1 Para Commando
  • 2 Para Commando
  • 9 Para Commando
  • 10 Para Commando
These are Indian Army Special Forces units and are trained to work in extreme climates and conditions behind enemy lines. They are specialists in Airborne Ops, raids and all special operations. India's external intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) has two special forces, funded for covert actions:
  • Establishment 22: This force comprises of Tibetan refugees who escaped into India with the Dalai Lama. These are paratroopers and highly trained and motivated, primarily to sabotage Chinese army operations during conflict with India.
  • Special Group: Activity not known.
NSG (National Security Guard): This force is India's counter terrorist response unit. Its members are drawn from the army, para-military forces and police forces. They are known as the Black Cats, owing to the all-black dress they wear. Marine Commandos: Activity not known. Headquartered on Indian Navy ship INS Abhimanyu. Equivalent to the Navy Seals/ SBS.
