Spanish Boot

The Spanish boot was an iron casing for the leg and foot and was used by the Spanish Inquisition. A screw attachment, when applied, compressed the calf of the leg. Often, the leggings would be heated whilst on the leg, and sometimes before application. See also: boot (torture) See also: Spanish boot, a festive boot Spaniards wore to dinner parties.
