Spaced OutSpaced Out is a little-known Canadian animated series about the Martins - a family from Earth living in a space station-clad neighbourhood, which is built and owned by a mysterious "Krach" corporation. The whole station is a gigantic experiment made by Krach - its inhabitans are isolated from the outside world and are from time to time a unconscious subject of corporation's marketing or psychological research. The station is often visited by extra-terrestial forms of life (although part of the community strongly hesitates in UFO existence) or human guests from Earth - mostly with bad intentions. Characters - George Martin, head of the family, is the overseer of the station on behalf of Krach Board of Directors, his wife Monica is responsible for their house.
- Martins have 2 children - obese and fond of technology 10-year-old Benjamin and 15-year-old Betty, who is very freak and antypathetic teenager.
- Other characters living on the station include: George's mother, crazy of keeping fit who dislikes her daughter-in-law; local teacher Mrs Schumann, always looking for a husband and her nasty son Bobby; a Russian astronaut Boris, close friend of Martins and often a target of Mrs Schumann's crushes and Guy, who has various disguises and occupations on the station, like shopping assistant, medicine doctor or bartender.
* Martins own two domestic animals - a blue fat cat and a tiny yellow dog with brown spots - who are able to talk, though no one is aware of that. Two friends always ironically comment on the current perils taking place on the station.
