Space weather
is the speed and density of the particles and
solar wind
currently being generated by the
sun
. The term is also used to refer to the effect of the
solar wind
on the
Earth
's
magnetosphere
. Solar wind is the constant stream of plasma that streams away from the sun, and is the major contributing factor for causing
geomagnetic storms
.
