Space-time Code

A space time code is a method employed to increase wireless communication system channel capacity using multiple antennas. Space time codes may be split into two main types, noncoherent and coherent. In noncoherent STC neither the receiver does not know the channel impairments, while in coherent STC, the receiver has knows the channel impairments through training. Space time codes must be designed to allow simple encoding and decoding algorithms.
