South Euclid, OhioSouth Euclid is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 23,537. South Euclid became a village on October 13, 1917, and was officially incorporated as a city in 1941. Geography South Euclid is located at 41°31'19" North, 81°31'40" West (41.522071, -81.527677). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.1 km² (4.7 mi²). 12.1 km² (4.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 23,537 people, 9,542 households, and 6,421 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,937.7/km² (5,019.2/mi²). There are 9,854 housing units at an average density of 811.2/km² (2,101.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 75.24% White, 21.38% African American, 0.10% Native American, 1.50% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.42% from other races, and 1.35% from two or more races. 1.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 9,542 households out of which 32.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.9% are married couples living together, 13.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% are non-families. 28.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.03. In the city the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 85.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 80.2 males. The median income for a household in the city is $48,346, and the median income for a family is $58,958. Males have a median income of $41,125 versus $31,693 for females. The per capita income for the city is $22,383. 4.5% of the population and 2.8% of families are below the poverty line.
