Soundhouse Tapes

Soundhouse Tapes is a single by Iron Maiden. It is taken from a demo tape recorded by the band on New Years Eve 1978/1979. Three songs appear in rougher form than they would later be heard on the first Iron Maiden album and subsequent singles: Prowler, Invasion and Iron Maiden. The fourth song from the demo tape, "Strange World", would not be released until the mid 1990s on the Best of the Beast double CD. The Soundhouse Tapes have been bootlegged and pirated several times, as well as being re-released by the band in full on the 4LP vinyl version of the Best of the Beast box, and spread over singles and the two CD version released around the same time.
