Sophie Ellis-bextor

Sophie Ellis-Bextor (born 10 April 1979) is a British singer. She fronted the band theaudience until it split up, and then in 2000 collaborated with Italian DJ Spiller on the single "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)", which stormed to No 1 in the UK charts, winning a much-publicised race against ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham's first solo release. Sophie has since pursued her own successful solo career, with hits such as 'Take Me Home' (2001), 'Murder On The Dancefloor' (2001), 'Get Over You' (2002), and 'I Won't Change You' (2003). She is the daughter of Janet Ellis, a former presenter of children's programme Blue Peter, which led to Sophie appearing on the programme as a child. She has a son Sonny.
