Sonic Championship

Sonic the Fighters, called Sonic Championship in North America, is an arcade game. An employee at AM2 in SEGA added Sonic the Hedgehog characters into a copy of the game Fighting Vipers during his spare time. His coworkers liked the idea, so the game was developed and later released to arcades in May 1996, running on the Sega Model 2B board. The arcade game is a fighting game. The following characters are playable: If a character defeats all eight opponents, he will face Metal Sonic and Doctor Eggman (His North American name, Doctor Robotnik, was misspelled 'Doctor Robotnic' in that distribution.) A Sega Saturn version was announced but never released. A newer battle game was realeased for Game Boy Advance. It is called Sonic Battle.
