Some Kind Of Monster (Movie)

Some Kind Of Monster, also the name of a song released in 2003 by Metallica, is the name of a 2004 film featuring the band. What began as documenting the making of an album became an unexpected voyage into the complexities of human relationships, and the power of the creative process to exact emotional tolls and ultimately, to heal the soul. Controversy erupted when footage of Dave Mustaine was featured in the movie. Mustaine, Metallica's former lead guitarist who left the band in the early 80's, derided the band for using the footage without his approval. Mustaine also stated that he once hoped to collaborate with the band, with which he has had numerous conflicts over the ownership of select Metallica songs. However, Mustaine believed that the band, specifically Lars Ulrich, had crossed the line.
