Soldier SimA soldier sim is a subgenre of the role-playing game. Often they're presented as a first-person shooter video game that focuses on military training and military combat in order to simulate a soldier's service in the military. This genre usually tries to create a pseudo-realistic virtual environment and often simulates historical battles or military operations with historical background, whereas this genre usually distorts historical facts. Otherwise, the player usually fights Terrorists. The game is mostly focused on the American point of view fighting against Nazis, Communists (mostly Vietcong or Soviets) or Terrorists. The player is given a clear distinction between friends and foes and is meant to survive while killing a lot of enemies in Single Player mode. A soldier sim often falls into the definition of a tactical shooter.
