Snfell

There are three volcanoes with the name Snfell in Iceland: 1. The famous mountain Snfellsjkull with its big glacier on top lies in the west of the island (1446 m). 2. The higher one of the other two volcanoes by the name Snfell (1833 m) is situated in the north-east of Vatnajkull. It is a rather big central volcano dominating its surrounding area by about 1000 m. Not far from there, the much discussed power station Krahnjkar is being constructed in the Highlands of Iceland. 3. A rather unknown mountain of a height of 1383 m to be found to the south-east of the Vatnajkull near the famous glacier lake Jkulsrln. See also: Volcanoes of Iceland
