Smart Personal Objects Technology

Microsoft has described its Smart Personal Object Technology (SPOT) initiative as being "aimed at improving the function of everyday objects through the injection of software" Its an initiative to introduce software and hardware that will make everyday devices smarter (smart devices) and more useful for consumers. Smart wristwatches will be the first SPOT-based application. MSN Direct Watches are made by various watch makers and soon alarm clocks will be using SPOT. A person who buys and wears a MSNDirect watch (has accessorized him/herself with a SPOT watch is referred to by some as "He/She has been SPOTerized". See also: DirectBand
