SINTRAN is the operating system for the Norsk Data line of mini computers. A very obscure command line environment, but at least it had the sense to call the help command "help". Compiled programs could not be run directly, rather you had to explictly call the "loader" with a special command. -- Half-forgotten memories -- SINTRAN was specifically made to run FORTRAN programs, and I think it was even written in FORTRAN. FORTRAN is perhaps the worst possible choice of a programming language to implement an OS in.
