Single-stock FuturesSingle-stock futures are securities that share some of the features of equity but some of those of traditional commodity futures. In the United States, they were for a long time disallowed from any exchange listing because the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities Exchange Commission couldn't decide which one would have the regulatory authority. In 2000, the two agencies agreed on a jurisdiction-sharing plan, and this allowed a new exchange to open in Chicago specifically for security futures, including single-stock futures. This exchange is known as OneChicago because it is a joint venture of the three Chicago-based derivatives exchanges that came before.
