In the fictional Gundam SEED series, Siegel Clyne was once chairman of the PLANTs and a member of the moderate faction of the PLANTs Supreme Council. During his term, he tried everything in his power to tie the knot between Naturals and Coordinators. However his term ended before Operation Spit Break and was proceded by the more aggressive Patrick Zala. Following Operation Spit Break, he is branded, along with all the other moderate members of the PLANTs, as traitor for selling out the PLANTs and giving information to the Earth Alliance. Clyne went into hidding, and was protected by loyal officers, however was found and killed with everyone around him. his daughter Lacus Clyne, escapes the PLANTs with Andrew Waltfeld and her loyalist to join the Archangel class assault ship and the Izumo class battleship Kusanagi to form the Triple Ships Alliance.
