Shoreline School DistrictThe Shoreline School District is the school district in an established residential community north of Seattle, Washington and includes the cities of Shoreline, Washington and Lake Forest Park, Washington. Families new to the Puget Sound region settle in the area reportedly due to the quality of its schools. Demographics The 65,000-member communities are predominately middle-class with a high percentage of college graduates and professional people. The district's student population is 6.8% black, 17.6% Asian, 1.3% Indian, 5.4% Hispanic, and 68.9% white. Parental involvement is high with the Parent Teacher Association one of the most active in the state. The district encourages parent participation at all levels. All of Shoreline's 10,010 students attend school in newly-renovated buildings. This renovation is the result of three bond measures which voters strongly supported in 1984, 1988, and 1994. In addition, Shoreline is a recognized leader at state and national levels in enhancing instruction through the application of technology.
