Shoaib

Shoaib is a prophet in the Qur'an. Shoaib was a direct descendent of Ibrahim. Shoaib was appointed by God to be a prophet to the people who lived east of Mount Sinai, the people of Midyan and Aykah. The people of these lands were especially notorious for cheating others through dishonest weights and measures. Shoaib warned them against such actions, but they did not listen, and both lands were destroyed by the wrath of God. Shoaib was also the father-in-law of Musa (Moses) and is traditionally associated with the biblical figure Jethro.
