Shawna Mccarthy

Shawna McCarthy (born 1954) is an American science fiction and fantasy editor. She is married to science fiction artist Wayne Douglas Barlowe. McCarthy edited Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine from 1983 until 1985, taking over the healm from Kathleen Moloney and being succeeded by Gardner Dozois. During her time at Asimov's, McCarthy published four anthologies and received the Hugo Award for Best Professional Editor once (being nominated for it a total of three times). After leaving Asimov's, McCarthy co-edited the Full Spectrum anthologies from Bantam with Lou Aronica, et al. She went on to become the founding editor of Realms of Fantasy magazine in 1994, a position in which she continues. McCarthy, Shawna McCarthy, Shawna
