Shared ParentingShared parenting is the common term used to describe a family arrangement after separation or divorce, in which the care of the children is substantially shared between the biological father and mother, leading to a situation where the child knows that both his or her parents are involved in their upbringing. This is generally considered to be a desirable state of affairs, though it is still uncommon in situations where Family law practitioners have become involved, due to the adversarial nature of the courts.
