ShapingbaShapingba () is a district of Chongqing, People's Republic of China, it was once known as Shaciqu () during the Sino-Japanese War. It is one of the most important part of Chongqing, which covered around 396 square kilometers, 13 Jiedao, 12 towns and one economical development area. The population of Shapingba is one of the most dense areas in Chongqing, which is around one million. Location and Geography Shapingba belonges to the city's main districts. Its border on Jiulongpo (south), Bishan (west) and Beipei (north), and the district itself is on the west bank of Jialing River. Education Shapingba District is famous for its educational and technical environments.It is also known as the cultural center of Chongqing. There are 7 colleges and unverisities included Chongqing University and Southwest University of Political Science and Law, over 60 research institutes, as well as 173 primary and secndory school. in additon, Chongqing College City has been under way since 2003. The Gele Shan, thousand years' old town -- Ciqikou and Lin's Garden are the most famous places among those nearly 100 showplaces. Three Gorges Square, the center of Shapingba was completed in November 8, 2003, served the citizens with its shopping, entertainment and leisure functions.
