Seyfert Galaxy Ngc 7742
The
Seyfert Galaxy NGC 7742
(also known as
Galaxy NGC 7742
or
NGC 7742
) is the designation for a Type 2
Seyfert galaxy
and a
spiral galaxy
that lies approximately 22 mega-
parsecs
(72 million
light-years
) away from Earth in the
Pegasus constellation
. This galaxy shows evidence of highly
ionized
atoms
because of the
spectrum
of its intensely
luminous
nucleus
. It appears much more the
Fried Egg Galaxy
than other claimants to the name.
