Seville And Halifax River Railroad

Florida state law chapter 3488, approved March 5, 1883, incorporated the Seville and Halifax River Railroad Company, owned by William Kemble Lente, of Volusia county, State of Florida; Edward R. Hall, of the City of Boston, State of Massachusetts; and Thomas W. Wilson, of Volusia county, State of Florida, The railroad was promised land grants along its line if it began construction within six months and completed the line by February 1, 1885. Florida state law chapter 3642, approved February 7, 1885, changed the route to The time of completion was extended to February 1, 1887.
