Seth Lloyd

. His research area is the interplay of
information
with
complex systems
, especially
quantum
systems. He has made major contributions to the field of
quantum computation
and proposed the first realizable design for a quantum computer. He also proved various quantum analogues of the
Shannon-Hartley theorem
