Sertoli-leydig Cell Tumour

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours are part of the sex cord-stromal tumour group of ovarian neoplasms. The average age of patients with Sertoli-Leydig tumours is 25, and one-third present with virilization. Masculinization is preceded by oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea and defeminization. This group of tumours is rare, comprising less than 1% of ovarian neoplasms. Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours are subdivided into many different subtypes. The most typical is composed of tubules lined by Sertoli cells and interstitial clusters of Leydig cells. As a group, 25% of these tumours are malignant.
