Selective Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor

A selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor or SNRI is a drug that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine by neurons, so that more of this neurotransmitter remains in the synapse. Atomoxetine is an SNRI. The abbreviation "SNRI" is also used to mean serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which can be confusing.
