Sefer

Sefer in Modern Hebrew is a book. However, when used by English speaking Jews it refers to a "holy" book. This could either be a book of Tanakh or any book on topics related to Judaism (e.g. a book of Halakha, or a commentary on the Torah). Basically, it is a term for a book in the category of Rabbinic literature.
