Second Battle Of Ushant

The Second Battle of Ushant, December 12, 1781 was a naval battle of the American Revolutionary War fought near Ushant between the French and British fleets. A French convoy sailed from Brest on December 10, protected by a fleet of 21 ships of the line commanded by Comte de Guichen. The British fleet of 18 ships, commanded by Rear Admiral Richard Kempenfelt in HMS Victory, intercepted the convoy on December 12 and captured 15 merchant ships.
