Hence, "a scoop" is a positive characterisation of a news story both within the competitive arena of journalism reporting, and among its readership. Other meanings - Scoop (news website) is a prominent independent news website based in New Zealand. The website is known in New Zealand for its coverage of New Zealand politics and globally for its coverage of issues like Black Box Voting and the 911 Unanswered Questions movement.
