The School of Rock is the original soundtrack album of the film of the same title starring Jack Black whose character is into rock and roll and decides to teach a prep school class what it's all about. It was released on September 30, 2003. The film's director Richard Linklater scouted the country for the best 13 year olds that play rock-and-roll music. Their talents are featured on this disc, and in the movie, where they play prep-school students. This soundtrack was nominated for the Grammy Awards of 2004 for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
