Schengen
is a wine-growing village in south-eastern
Luxembourg
near the point where the borders of
Germany

France
and Luxembourg come together. It is part of the
commune

Remerschen
in
Remich
canton
. Its population in
2004
was 425. The village became famous on
14 June
1985
, when the
Schengen treaty
was signed aboard the ship
Princesse Marie-Astrid
on the
Moselle River
at Schengen .
