Savio VegaSavio Vega (born Juan Rivera August 10, 1966 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) was a professional wrestler for the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) which is now known as the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Vega was born in the town of Vega Alta (Where the "Vega" in his wrestling name comes from), where he received his primary education. He participated in wrestling events during his high school years. After graduating from high school, Vega went to Miami, Florida, where he auditioned for the WWF. He was accepted and sent back to Puerto Rico, where he wrestled for the Puerto Rican Wrestling Federation. In 1989, he debuted under the identity of "T.N.T." and once he had gained enough wrestling experience, he was sent back to the United States. In 1995, he debuted in a WWF presentation called "RAW", using his new adopted name "Savio Vega". The gimmick used by the WWF to introduce Vega to the fans, was by passing him off as a regular "fan" in the audience who became upset when wrestler Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) was losing a match. Vega the "fan" jumped over the rails and "rescued" Razor Ramon. In 1996, Vega fought Stone Cold Steve Austin in a presentation called the Caribbean Strap Match at WrestleMania XII, which Vega himself considers his most important match. On various occasions, Vega fought under the identity of "Kwang the Ninja". In 1997, he was an original member of the "Nation of Domination" with fellow wrestlers "Crush" (Bryan Adams) and "Faarooq" (Ron Simmons). Vega soon left that group and formed his own alliance known as "Los Boricuas", with Miguel Prez Jr., Jos Estrda and Jess Castille, which lasted two months. In 2001, Vega announced his retirement from professional wrestling, due to the vertebrae problems he has had since participating in the WWF "Brawl for All" in 1997 against Marty Jannetty. Among the titles held by Vega are: WA Heavyweight Championship, IWA (International Wrestling Association) Tag Team Championship, WWE Intercontinental Championship, WWC (World Wrestling Commission) Television title, WWC Norte America (North America) Championship, and the WWC Tag Team Championship. Savio Vega now works as a WWE Pay-Per View analyst. See also Vega, Savio Vega, Savio Vega, Savio
