Saveetha Engineering CollegeCampus Saveetha Engineering College located on the Chennai - Bangalore National Highway (NH4), between Poonamallee and Sriperumbadur spreads over an area of around 100.885 acres (408,000 m²), which is almost four times the area stipulated by the All India Council for Technical Education also known as AICTE. This college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The total build-up are for the college to start with is 1,62,926 ft² (15,000 m²) completely with marble/ceramic tiled floors. The laboratories are well equiped with the latest state-of-the-art computers, equipments and gadgets. First year block houses the Department of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering as well as class rooms. Air-Conditioned gallery-type class rooms, individual rooms for faculty, rest rooms for students and a very spacious canteen with a service wing are some of the features of the first year block. The campus houses an architecturally and aesthetically designed ultra modern circular building of approximately 4,00,000 ft² (37,000 m²) area of which nearly 1,66,000 ft² (15,000 m²) has been completed. This building houses the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering apart from Administration. Hostels Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls within the college campus itself. The hostels are located very close to the academic blocks and can be reached within three minutes of walk. Built-up are of boys hostel is 6,700 m² and it is 2200 m² for the girls hostel. At present, 250 boys and 120 girls can be easily accomodated. Accomodation is provided with single rooms having attached bath rooms with geysers. The rooms well furnished with cot, mattress, separate wardrobe and specially-made elegant furniture complete the ensemble. Laboratories The laboratories are fully furnished with the latest equipments, computers and machineries. The pride of the college is the Computer Science labs. HP Lab The HP Lab consists of HP workstations which have Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional installed. All these machines are connected to the LAN and have the latest softwares installed.
