Save Toby Summary Toby of "Save Toby" is a rabbit. The site's owner found Toby wounded outside his home and has since nursed the rabbit back to health. He claims that, if US$50,000 is not donated to him (the owner) through his website by June 30th, 2005, he will have Toby killed and prepared as a meal. The website raises money through donations and "Save Toby" merchandise. Urban legend website Snopes.com claims that the website is a hoax. If so, it is of a similar nature to a European site, Save Bernd. Complaints The website has been swamped with hatemail of all sorts. Mostly originating from animal rights activists, many people have demanded this website be removed. Status Although this may seem prepostrous, the website has reported a staggering amount of over 20,000$ USD as of 29 March 2005.
