Sapper Tab

right The Sapper Tab is a military badge of the United States Army which was authorized in June 2004 by the Army Chief of Staff, General Peter Schoomaker. The Sapper Tab is worn as a uniform patch on the upper left shoulder of the Armys Class A uniform. It is similar in appearance to the Ranger Tab and Special Forces Tab. To be awarded the Sapper Tab, a service member must hold the designation as a Combat Engineer and must have completed the Sapper Leader Course, held at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as part of the U.S. Army Engineering School. The award is retroactive to June 14, 1985 for previous graduates of the Sapper Leader Course. The Sapper Tab is authorized to be worn simultaneously with both the Ranger and Special Forces Tab. In such cases, the Sapper Tab is worn beneath all other uniform tabs.
