Sanwa, Niigata

Sanwa (三和村; -mura) was a village located in Nakakubiki District, Niigata, Japan. On January 1, 2005 the village merged with seven other towns and villages into the expanded city of Joetsu and no longer exists as an independent municipality. As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 6,191 and a density of 157.29 persons per km². The total area was 39.36 km².
